1. Studio type and camera count
A single-person YouTube room and a multi-camera news studio are not lit the same way. Every camera angle, guest and show segment adds to the lighting need. What will be shot in the studio is the first driver of the budget.
2. Floor area and ceiling height
Backdrop width, room depth and clear ceiling height determine how many fixtures are needed, how powerful they are and how they are hung. Low ceilings call for slim panels, while large, high studios bring in more powerful fixtures and ceiling infrastructure.
3. Number, type and brand of fixtures
Lights are the most visible part of the budget. Power class (e.g. the 88 W compact Nanlite Forza 60C versus the 800 W Forza 720B), bi-colour versus full colour, and brand all matter directly. Alongside imported Nanlite and Nanlux fixtures, Turkish-made TrueLight broadcast lights are another option.
4. Rigging
Stands, wall mounts, rails, a ceiling grid or pantographs: rigging means both materials and installation labour. Permanent ceiling infrastructure is more work up front but frees the floor and keeps the lighting layout intact.
5. Backdrop and set
A fixed green screen cyclorama requires set construction; a curtain is quicker to install. With a real set, the set itself and its lighting are budgeted separately. See our green screen studio page for backdrop options.
6. Control infrastructure
Adjusting lights one by one on the fixture, running them from an app, or controlling them from a DMX console in the control room are different cost levels. In studios with many lights, DMX cabling, wireless receivers and the console form a separate item.
7. Power and site preparation
A new electrical circuit, air conditioning, acoustic treatment or building work may be needed. These are often outside the lighting quote; agreeing during the survey which are needed and who does them avoids surprises.
8. Installation, commissioning, training and support
An installation is more than delivering equipment: mounting, testing, team training and after-handover support are part of the scope. Products bought from True Medya come with 2 years of technical support.
Exchange rates and supply
Prices of imported equipment can move with the exchange rate. Figures discussed before the equipment list is final can quickly go out of date; always check the date and the equipment list a quote is based on.
Ways to manage the budget
- Define the studio’s purpose and the content you will shoot most; a room that tries to do everything costs more.
- Have your existing lights and cameras checked for compatibility.
- If needed, phase the build: key lighting and infrastructure first, effects and set lighting later.
- Compare Turkish-made and imported fixture options against the same requirement.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a green screen studio cost?
The cost of a green screen studio is driven mostly by backdrop type (fixed cyclorama or curtain), backdrop size and the number of lights. We do not offer package prices; after a free survey we prepare a quote for your needs.
What is the minimum for a small YouTube studio?
For a single-person talking-head video, two or three lights, a suitable backdrop and a quiet room are a good start. We can help you choose models for your room over WhatsApp.
Is the site survey free?
Yes, the survey and quote preparation are free of charge.
Why are there no prices on the website?
In studio projects the price depends on the space, the equipment chosen and the infrastructure work required. Equipment prices also move with exchange rates and stock, so we share current prices on request.
