Live Streaming, YouTube and Podcast Studio Installation
Podcast and YouTube studios usually end up in small rooms with low ceilings. We plan the light so it takes up no floor space, stays quiet and gives the same result all day. We built Gain Medya’s pocket studio in Kuzguncuk, Üsküdar under a 2.6 m ceiling with slim TrueLight soft panels, and designed Zera Medya’s lighting on a grid system matched to the studio ceiling.

A studio in a small room: placement comes first
In a small room light stands both creep into the frame and eat up working space. That is why we prefer slim panels mounted close to the ceiling or wall, and use stands only where they are really needed.
Window light changes during the day; a frame that looks right in the morning can look different in the afternoon. If your recording times vary, control daylight with curtains and make the studio light the single reference.
Two-, three- and four-light setups
The number of people and cameras sets the number of lights. The setups below are starting points we adapt to your room during the survey.
- 2 lights: a large soft key plus an accent that separates the backdrop or background. Simple and fast for single-person talking-head videos.
- 3 lights: the classic three-point setup of key, fill and back light. Adds shape to the face and separation from the background.
- 4 lights: three-point plus a backdrop or set light. Ideal for colour accents and brand colours.
Multi-camera videocasts
A common two-person podcast layout uses a close-up camera on each speaker plus a wide shot of both. The light has to look consistent in all three angles; each person gets their own key so their face does not fall into shadow when they turn to the other speaker.
Reflections in glasses and light stands in the frame are the most frequent problems. We check them with a test recording using the real speakers in their real seating positions.
Sound and quiet lights
Acoustic treatment and microphone choice are a separate specialism. Our job on the lighting side is to add no noise to the recording: we choose passively cooled panels or fixtures with adjustable fan modes. For example, the TrueLight Ultra-Soft Studio Panel is passively and silently cooled, and the Nanlite FS-300C runs at a manufacturer-stated average of 24 dB(A) in smart fan mode.
Stream workflow: cameras, mixer and software
In a live stream the camera is not the only source; a presentation computer, video playback and remote guests join the flow too. The vision mixer, streaming software and internet connection are a separate layer of the project. We plan the light and the studio layout together with this workflow and define the scope during the survey.
- List every video and audio source.
- Decide whether you need only the programme output or separate recordings of each camera, based on your editing needs.
- Rehearse before going live with the real devices over the real internet connection.
Corporate studios and training content
In studios built for internal communication and training videos, the priority is that the system works without a technical crew. We fix the lighting layout and simplify the start–record–shut-down steps. In the Meta Digital Education studio we used the TrueLight Soft series, which keeps instructors cool and comfortable through long lesson recordings.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Can a small room work as a podcast or YouTube studio?
Yes. With the right fixtures and placement, small rooms with low ceilings can become professional studios. We built Gain Medya’s pocket studio under a 2.6 m ceiling with slim TrueLight soft panels.
How many lights does a podcast studio need?
It depends on the number of people and cameras. Two or three lights are usually a good start for a single-person shoot; in a two-person, multi-camera videocast each speaker gets their own key light.
Will the lights make noise in the recording?
Fan-cooled fixtures can make noise. We reduce the risk by choosing passively cooled panels or lights with adjustable fan modes, and by setting the fan for the recording conditions.
Do you also install cameras, the mixer and streaming software?
We deliver the lighting and studio layout turnkey. For cameras, the vision mixer and streaming software we define the project scope together during the survey.
Can I just buy the lights?
Yes. For any light on our products page you can get price and stock information by WhatsApp or phone, and we can help you choose the right model for your room.
